’If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land’’ – 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Revered minister of God and spiritual father to millions of Christian believers all over the world, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has cautioned against continuous shedding of blood in the country; saying that the Creator now requires genuine repentance and truthful conducts. He gave the admonition last night at the monthly Holy Ghost Service that held at the Redemption Camp Grounds, Mowe, Ogun State tagged SWIMMING IN GLORY 7.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide said Nigeria requires strong dose of prayers to avoid the nation’s cup from getting filled up and attract God’s anger. The General Overseer who waxed philosophical reminded Nigerians that nothing is hidden to God, Who will reveal all human actions in the fullness of time. He said the EBOLA virus was easily contained when it broke in Nigeria because Nigeria’s cup of sins was not full at that time.

He explained that he doesn’t speak or warn of dire consequences every so often because the Redeemed Christian Church of God is part of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria that are the umbrella organizations for all Christian bodies in the country and the leaders of those organizations have the responsibility of presenting the Christian position on issues.

In a manner that suggests that as it is with individuals, so it is with nations. Adeboye said: ‘’I feel compelled to say some things that concerns all of us, particularly youths in this nation. ‘’There is nothing that shall not be revealed and Jesus Christ who said so is the harbinger of grace’’ “But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out’’ Numbers 32:22. He also cautioned against lying, an act which he said God resents as a heinous sin.

GOD DOES NOTHING WITHOUT REVEALING IT TO HIS PROPHETS: Those conversant with spiritual principles would know that priests of God of Nigerian origin have really interceded at critical junctures to draw the hands of God back from the precipice. The Holy Bible in Amos: 3:7 states expressly that: ‘’Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets’’ Adeboye who disclosed that he and his wife fasted for 14 days to avoid been anointed as a pastor said most times, it pays to be old-fashioned like God and Jesus Christ in order to avoid sin whose reward is death.

In a part of the message directed at youths and lusts, the RCCG Overseer admonished that it is instructive that people run away from sin, which is why he said all his private secretaries are men. He noted that: ‘’If you employ a female secretary and she accuses you of attempting to be romantic, nobody outside will believe you if you said that such never happened.

CAUTION: Pastor Adeboye reminded the congregation that nobody is permitted so sin and be under grace. He invited attention to some Bible passages in his admonition: “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart…. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace.’’ 2 Timothy 2: 22. He also used the experience of Biblical Joseph who climbed to prominence from the prison because he was faithful and refused to sin.

GOD COULD REVERSE HIS PROMISES: According to Adeboye, God Who is ever faithful also spoke in Numbers 23:19 that: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it, or hath he spoken, and shall he not do it?’’ He also gave another occasion when God promised in Isaiah 55: 11: ‘’My word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void’’: The RCCG leader said these promises would work only if people are committed to doing their own part.

“Nigeria/Nigerians will be known for corruption worldwide but the tide will turn and Nigeria will also be known for righteousness worldwide. “Many shall take hold of him that is a Nigerian, saying, we will go with you for we have heard that God is with you,” Rev. S.G Elton, a British missionary who lived and died praying for Nigeria.
‘’’The way America is held in high esteem that every man in the world desires to go there, so shall I make Nigeria. No black man would like to die without visiting Nigeria to see my wonders’’ — Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide

YEAR 2002 PROPHECY – God’s Word to Nigeria
The Lord says to Nigeria, “I have given you a missionary spirit and I am surely going to change the nations of the earth through you. But now I will give you the anointing to change your nation. The Lord says I am going to begin to unravel the corrupt system in Nigeria that men will say it is impossible, but I say with God all things are possible. There is going to be a revival in the universities and this revival will be of a large magnitude, that the revival in the universities will affect the secondary schools and primary schools. And God will change Nigeria to the next generation. And the Lord says the unity of the leaders is coming. It’s going to uproot and dethrone the occult, for I am going to overthrow the occult spirit. And I am going to use Nigerians to heal the rest of Africa, because what happens in Nigeria will affect the whole continent. — Cindy Jacobs is an American intercessor and a prophetess. She gave this word at a global prayer conference in Guatemala, in year 2002)
All the above are credited to ‘’Intercessors for Christ’’ a prayer group in its Year 2010 post on Facebook. The body asserts that for these promises to come to pass speedily, God demands from all of us obedience, particularly with regard to turning back from our wicked ways: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear [their prayer] from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country. (2 Chronicles 7:14.

In essence, we must repent and pray harder to move the hands of the Lord to bless Nigeria. But we all should be reminded that our God is a God of order and would expect that we embrace the policy of good governance because even in heaven, there is order. It is after complying with the demands of God that He will mercifully move in our nation. The Holy Bible in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 states that: ‘’For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. Proverbs 13: 4 also abhors slothfulness and states emphatically that: ‘’The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat’’
