What Africa does with agriculture will undoubtedly determine the future of food in the world!’’ – Akinwumi Adesina  As year 2018, gradually draws to an end, we bring you accounts of past memorable events that have shaped the course of history in Nigeria. We feature stories of the lives of notable Nigerians who could be classified as role models, whose footsteps could be followed by the growing generation as a result of the successes recorded by these personalities by dint of hard work and enviable conducts. The activity also has the objective of promoting the feelings of empathy in the growing ones these days when morals and standards have fallen drastically. It is also designed to make readers see hope in the future of Nigeria through enviable conducts. In this edition, we feature DR. AKINWUMI ADESINA, President, African Development Bank, whose giant strides and commitment to the development of Agriculture have obtruded themselves. We sincerely believe that the three tiers of government need to go through policy papers on the development of the Agriculture sub-sector and embark on massive sensitization of the citizenry.  Dr. Akinwumi Adesina is Nigeria’s immediate-past Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, whose tenure brought visible improvements to the agriculture sub-sector. Before serving his country as Minister of Agriculture, Adesina was vice-president of policy and partnerships at the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and also had a stint at the Rockefeller Foundation. He was appointed by former United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon as one of 17 global leaders to spearhead the Millennium Development Goals, whose implementation lapsed in December, 2015; with the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals. Akinwumi Adesina went on to assume the mantle of leadership as the President of the African Development Bank, with the mission of ‘’supporting Good Governance and Accountability in Africa for Inclusive Growth and Socio-Economic Transformation’’ He was rated one of the 100 Most Reputable Personalities in the world, by a South Africa-based organization’s Reputation Poll.
